Young Organized Industry Association and Industrial Engineering Association broke new ground in Antalya. The two associations will seek technology-based solutions to business problems with the Simulation Arena Competition they will organize jointly.
Young Organized Industry Association (GENÇOSD) and Industrial Engineering Association (EMD) launched a Simulation Arena Competition for technology-based solutions to business problems. In the competition, which will be held for the first time in Antalya, students will be offered the opportunity to practice on real cases taken from the factories in Antalya OIZ. The competition, the first of which will be held in Antalya with the participation of 48 students from 13 different universities, will consist of two stages and will end on July 7.
OPPORTUNITY FOR ENGINEER CANDIDATES
With the simulation arena project, in which industrial and business engineering students will reveal their knowledge and skills, it is aimed to develop the skills of enterprises in data collection, analysis and use them in the decision-making process, to increase the awareness of the working areas of industrial engineers, and for students to develop simulation skills before starting the business life. It is aimed to reach real examples in order to strengthen them.
HIGH ADDED VALUE
Ali Bahar, Chairman of the Board of Antalya Organized Industrial Zone, emphasized the importance of clustering these two associations, whose member profiles are composed of young people, for the solution of problems in industrial production, and said, “Young industrialists and engineers seek solutions to the problems encountered in production in the light of science, put their hands under the responsibility and do this as a single body. , with an exemplary cooperation, is a big and important step for the development of the sector. It is our greatest wish that this cooperation, which includes high added value, will continue increasingly within the sector.”
COOPERATION BETWEEN ASSOCIATIONS
Stating that the project is a good example that draws attention to the efficiency of cooperation between associations, GENÇ OSD President Canan Gürkan said, “The fact that students have the opportunity to study and analyze real cases in their education life will enable them to have experience that will facilitate their business life in the future. As the 2nd and 3rd generations of our companies, we should adopt a new management approach and establish the decision mechanism using more scientific methods. The protocol we signed with EMD will both contribute to our operational processes in our companies and lead us to prefer experienced students for possible engineer positions planned to be opened in the future.”
THEY WILL SOLVE REAL CASE
Stating that 7 companies from the members of GENÇ OSD participated in the competition, Gürkan said, “Cases were prepared in the areas needed by the companies in Antalya OSB and shared with industrial engineering students. Cases include new investment analysis, stock management, production line improvement, logistics planning, resource requirements planning, all of which are real. By evaluating the results that will emerge, we want to raise awareness in more companies in our Region and expand the scope of this project in the coming years. We are proud to be the pioneer of such a project in Antalya.”
