Energy Diary – President of the Energy Engineering Association, Ufuk Peker, said that companies that can measure energy consumption in their business processes can achieve 35 percent energy efficiency.
Industrial Engineering Association President Ufuk Peker said that the association, which was founded in 2017, works on waste management, efficiency, strategic planning, system design, process development and innovation. Stating that one of the biggest tasks in efficiency falls on SMEs, Peker said, “SMEs should first prepare a strategic plan for energy saving. Because systematic progress is important. Whenever we think long-term, then the future will give us energy.”
Peker emphasized that businesses should be able to measure less energy consumption by leaving a machine running at idle or stopping it completely. Explaining that issues such as reducing high electricity bills and wearing out of devices due to energy consumption are among the most common problems they face in their work with SMEs, Peker said, “We recommend businesses to complete their technological infrastructure first in order to manage this process correctly. Those who complete this process systematically save 35% of energy in all our statistics. I emphasize that, the magic wand of energy is innovation.”
