Solving Real Problems
28 June 2018
One of the main features that distinguishes Industrial Engineering from other engineering is to define the problem correctly and to think strategically to solve the determined problem. This is to subconsciously process the thinking methods that we have habituated and
is to succeed in making it a culture of the institution. Never in our workplace or in the environment we are in, either with our colleagues or in communication.
Haven't we had conflicts in the dialogues we have with the people we are with? And let's take a look at situations where we have to agree to change something. Or
the concessions we make because we inadvertently failed to look right. Now imagine that we come together and conduct bilateral and/or group dialogues to identify and solve the problem with only one common goal… Understanding communicating and executing and problem solving…
How about producing long-term permanent solutions instead of short moves to save the moment temporarily?
Let's take a look at the golden rules of determining the contours of the problem efficiently and finally accepting the solutions produced despite initial opposition.
Sharing and Listening – Understanding other people's perspectives is important in getting to the root of the problem. Being able to share emotions, motivation, thinking power and experiences at the right time… Convincing the other person with the opposite opinion.
One of the ways is to make him feel that he is a part of the problem and solution. The most important purpose of listening is to experience how to reach a solution in difficult conditions with an opposing view. With a good communication skill, it is to win the difficult conditions as a management team.
As Albert Einstein said, “In every difficulty lies an opportunity.” The main thing is to be a part of change by seizing opportunities from difficulties…
Developing a Plan for Change – Defining the problem from the perspective of other team members and ensuring correct planning of the problem.
Analyzing the Right Problem with the Right Analysis Methods – Looking for ways to remove inefficient communication points from the process will get us to the final result faster. It should not be forgotten that instead of trying to change people, we need to increase interaction in communications, improve the process and manage conflicts in the way of solving the problem.
will make it easier.
Implementing the Plan – Establishing sustainable and short control mechanisms indicates how beneficial the system works, while remembering the purpose of the team members you are in contact with and keeping the communication warm.
In fact, if possible, if we can get other teammates to check us on the subject, according to the suitability of the organizational culture and company structure; It means that we have succeeded in establishing an internal control mechanism. Thus, we have taken responsibility as a team and our approach to problem solving will be embedded in the business spirit as we have determined.
Evaluating the Results – Comparing the old methods with the new methods, the problems in the system we have established, the lessons learned, the conflicts on the subject, the communication deficiencies, the approach of the team members to the definition of the problem, the solution techniques developed
Let's analyze the benefit.
Finally, we must ask ourselves the following question. “Were we able to achieve more satisfactory results and agreements with less negative reaction and feedback? If no, why? Changing the Plan Where Necessary – Making the right change; In order for the revised plan to be beneficial, it will shed light on us to investigate the reasons why we did not get the result we expected from the previous plan.
